An Essexmas visit to remember
Last weekend, we were delighted to welcome the cast of The Only Way is Essex who were here in Liverpool filming for their upcoming annual show, The Only Way is Essexmas.
Stars such as Chloe Sims, Danielle Armstrong, Georgia Kousoulou, Tommy Mallett, John Clark and couple Pete Wicks and Megan McKenna stayed with us during filming across various locations around the city.

This weekend we hosted the most wonderful event at our breathtaking Garden of Eden Wedding Show. Held in the new Garden of Eden rooftop venue located above The Shankly Hotel.

Brides, grooms, bridesmaids and their families came from near and far. All wanting to see some of Liverpool’s most talented and qualified wedding suppliers. Those who attended the show included dress makers, florists, photographers, bakers and so much more who were all there to inspire and excited those soon to be wed.

There was also a magnificent catwalk show for models to show off stunning wedding ensembles. Our talented events team were also on hand to answer any questions guests had and help them to plan their dream wedding. Guests had the choice of all our venues including The Garden of Eden, Baby Eden or 30 James Street – Home of the Titanic.
Venues dressed to impress
This was the first time The Garden of Eden was open for a wedding show and it looked utterly fabulous. With unique table settings, unencumbered views of the city. The ideal chance for any couple to explore the venue and all it had to offer, it was a great day had by all. Baby Eden which is situated on the ground floor of The Shankly Hotel was furthermore open to guests looking for a more intimate venue for their big day.
Brides & grooms to be as well as suppliers even took part in a Mannequin Challenge, a craze which has swept the internet.
Entertainment was on hand to give couples a taste of what their wedding entertainment could be. From a DJ to live saxophonist and even a magician, there was plenty going on to give those soon to be wed a taste of their big day.

The VIP invites came in a Wonderland Box filled with goodies such as mini bottles of Liverpool Gin, personalised Eden M&M’s and a key which is their VIP entrance to the launch.
Celebrities who have received their luxury invite and posted to social media include; Coleen Rooney, Denise Welch, Sheree Murphy and Duncan James as well as Hollyoaks actors such as Jessica Fox, Anna Passey, Jimmy Essex and Nikki Sanderson as well as a whole host of other famous faces who will getting glammed up for the big event.
Guests are in for a treat as multi-platinum selling, BRIT Award winning songstress Gabrielle is set to take to the stage as well as club star Rachel McFarlane.
A host of local talent will also be putting on a show stopping performance including Nazene Danielle Dance School, who will be wowing guests with a special Eden routine.

We’re extremely excited to announce the arrival of our new autumn menu for The Bastion Bar & Restaurant. A carefully created selection of dishes put together by out talented chefs. Our new menu will ensure diners can enjoy a selection of delicious dishes in the most remarkable setting.

From small plates to sharers and sandwiches, there is plenty to satisfy you at lunch. So, whether you’re having a post-shopping break or want to fill up before a visit to the theatre, even simply catching up with friends, The Bastion Bar & Restaurant is the place to be.
Why not try a delicious sharing platter which includes;
Tempura Prawns, Maryland Crab Cakes, Sweet Chilli Chicken Skewers and Duck Spring Rolls served with a selection of sweet chilli and satay sauce.
If you’re feeling a little more peckish, indulge in the beer battered fish and chips which are sure to fill a hole. The dish is accompanied with delicious mushy peas the taste of which will transport you to the seaside. Chunky hand cut chips and fresh tartare sauce and a generous squeeze of refreshing lemon.

The Bastion Bar & Restaurant is home to some of Bill Shankly’s most prized and treasured possessions such a contracts, tracksuits and letters from his fans. The Shankly Museum within The Bastion Bar & Restaurant makes a trip to The Shankly Hotel unique from anything else in the city and a real must visit.
For starters why not indulge and enjoy some delicious Maryland Crab Cakes with Saffron Aioli, Rocket and Caper Salad. This classic yet moreish dish is set to be a firm favourite with diners and the saffron infused cakes offer a crisp outing paired with a soft and welcoming centre which ensure you’ll certainly want more than two. The contrasting flavours of the crab cakes and the caper salad are a perfect combination which we urge you to try.
The main event; we’ve created an incredible main menu which is sure to satisfy any appetite.
One of the stand-out dishes from our intricate mains menu is our Double Steak Fillet Sharer on a Sizzling Hot Stone with Hand Cut Chips, Pepper Sauce with Vine Cherry Tomatoes and Flat Cap Mushrooms. This show stopping dish is served on a hot stone which ensures the steak fillets are perfectly cooked and remain hot so you can enjoy the dish to its full potential.
Other dishes on the menu include Hanging Chicken, Mixed Pepper and Red Onion Kebab, Garlic and Chilli Butter, Mexican Slaw Served with Rice or Skinny Fries which has a vegetarian option of replacing the chicken with Halloumi or why not enjoy a Aubergine and Roasted Heritage Tomato Feta Tart with Toasted Cob Nuts, Pesto, Roast New Potatoes and a Garlic Tomato Sauce.
