Alma de Cuba has recently unveiled exciting new plans to install a beautiful new floor level inside the restaurant and bar to give lucky brides and grooms a unique backdrop on their special day. This amazing wedding setting in Alma de Cuba is sure to be one of the best venues to walk down the aisle in Liverpool.
A former church, Alma de Cuba is one of the city’s most popular and famous social hubs, having already won multiple awards for its unique carnival atmosphere and Cuban inspired events.
A Unique Space
The new wedding events space is set to be built above the existing mezzanine floor currently used by diners and will make use of one of Alma de Cuba’s main features, the alter. This unique facet was expertly restored when the building was renovated and will now be the main feature of the new magical wedding venue.
The first CGI images show how the new wedding floor could look with the stunning Alma de Cuba altar at the centre and glass walls enclosed around the aisle to create a private event space that is still part of the party below.
At Signature Living, its fair to say we’ve mastered the art of hosting weddings that are cherished forever.
The Shankly Hotel are proud to house the Garden of Eden that has become one of the most popular places to get married in the city and of course the stunning White Star Grand Hall over in 30 James Street.
We can’t wait to welcome Alma into the Signature family.
Returning to its Roots
Located on Seel Street, this vibrant bar was once Liverpool’s oldest Catholic Church and is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.
Built in 1788 it served as a Catholic building over a period of 188 years, after it was taken over by the Polish community and renamed Our Lady of Czestochowa.
It was then converted by architects and sympathetically restored to retain many of the original features from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries including the upstairs galleries, the king post roof, the beautiful altar and the stained glass windows.
We’re planning on taking the sentimental church back to its roots by adding on a unique wedding venue to complement the current layout.
It’s a really exciting new step for the restaurant and will give it a whole new dimension, the future is looking very bright for Alma de Cuba.
In the meantime, we’d love to see you at Alma de Cuba for our array of vivid and vibrant events, ranging from our Samba Afternoon Tea to Thursday Rumba Night.
