The Shankly Hotel pays tribute to Bill Shankly at every possible opportunity, which is why his illustrious career is immortalised within the hotel and The Bastion Bar & Restaurant. We have spoken to people from all walks of life, who were more than happy to share their wonderful memories about Bill Shankly – and we’ve filmed these fantastic stories so they are remembered for a lifetime.
Of course, Bill Shankly’s colleagues and players had superb stories to share – many of which have never been heard before. Today, we were lucky enough for six LFC legends to visit The Shankly Hotel, who recorded their personal stories about the legendary manager so they can be enjoyed by our guests.
We also gave the legends a guided tour around the new hotel and The Bastion Bar & Restaurant, ahead of the grand opening on Saturday 15th August 2015. The LFC legends who dropped by include: Roy Evans, John Aldridge, Phil Neal, Alan Kennedy, David Fairclough and Ian Callaghan. We know you’re green with envy right now!
The Liverpool legends also had a sneak peak at the luxury rooms, interconnected rooms and luxury studios, as well as The Bastion Bar & Restaurant that features memorabilia from the Shankly family’s private collection. There are so many superb items for our guests to explore, including fan letters, Shankly’s typewriter, the key to The Shankly Gates and his original LFC contract.
