The Shankly Hotel is proud to present Live Sessions, the most unique live music Liverpool event in the city. On Tuesday 18th September, we are welcoming two more outstanding artists to our spectacular rooftop venue on The Shankly Hotel, to showcase the very best Merseyside musical talent.
Each month, the city’s latest and greatest artists perform their hits on the breathtaking Garden of Eden rooftop, with the iconic Liverpool skyline as a backdrop. Curated and presented by The Farm’s Keith Mullin, we bring together the city’s most influential musicians alongside our brightest new stars, for an unforgettable evening of cinematic music.
After successfully kicking off Live Sessions in style with Red Rum Club and The Sums in July, followed by Sub Blue and The Farm in August, this month we are bringing you two more fabulous artists for a FREE gig in the heart of Liverpool.

On Tuesday 18th September, we will be welcoming two amazing artists to our stage for the third Live Sessions. The first will be the hugely talented English singer-songwriter Natalie McCool, famous for her inimitable style and gloomy indie-pop. She was first recognised when she won a Yamaha-sponsored national song writing competition judged by Coldplay front man Chris Martin and ever since then, she has become one of the best new artists in Merseyside.
McCool’s breed of slick alternative pop has won acclaim from tastemakers including The Sunday Times, Q, Clash, Line of Best Fit and the 405, as well as Huw Stephens and Alice Levine, while BBC Introducing described the edgy artist as “one of the finest emerging songwriters around”.
As well as the wonderful Natalie McCool, Live Sessions are inviting the legendary Christians, who first burst onto the scene in the late 1980s. Renowned for an endless string of soulful, yet socially aware hits such as Forgotten Town, Ideal World, Born Again, Harvest for the World, Words, The Bottle and many more, The Christians are currently enjoying a successful revival to the Scouse music scene.
Named after the surnames of the three brothers that were originally in the line-up and also coincidentally guitarist Henry Priestman’s middle name, this iconic band have had a long list of top 40 hits. Still headed by enigmatic lead singer Garry Christian, who very much deserves the Daily Mirror’s description of him as having ‘one of the finest voices in pop’, we can’t wait to see this legendary band take to the stage in their hometown.
With so much live music to look forward to, as well as in depth artist interviews in lavish hotel suites, extravagant rock star behaviour and all kinds of hot tub shenanigans, stay tuned for all things Live Sessions.
Live Sessions will be taking place every month on Garden of Eden’s spectacular rooftop, with different and exciting acts headlining the show each time.
So, make the most of this jaw-dropping setting and get down early, grab a drink, take in the view and meet the bands. The bar will be open from 7pm and there will be food available.
What’s better than watching some of your favourite bands take to the stage in front of the stunning backdrop of the Liverpool sunset?
We’ll see you on the roof!
