Famous for showcasing some of Liverpool’s best loved local talent, mixed in with some hot up and coming stars, this Wednesday you can look forward to amazing performances from the city’s best loved sons, The Farm and Merseyside native Sub Blue.
Already the most unique live music event in the city, watch Liverpool’s latest and greatest artists perform live on the Garden of Eden Rooftop at The Shankly Hotel, framed by the iconic skyline.
Live Sessions kicked off in style on 18th July with our amazing launch party, playing host to the outstanding Red Rum Club and The Sums. The evening was a roaring success, filling the Shankly Rooftop with avid music lovers and those eager to check out this new performance venue.
Check out our video below, featuring all the highlights from the first ever Live Sessions.
This Wednesday we welcome both The Farm and Sub Blue to grace our rooftop stage.
Formed in early 1983, The Farm are a much-loved Liverpool band that grew in popularity during the 1990s. Their big break came when they released their first album, Spartacus in March 1991, it reached number one in the UK Album Charts.
The group had eight top forty hit singles in the UK including ‘Groovy Train’ and ‘All Together Now’ that were a soundtrack for a generation. For a four year period between 1990 and 1994, The Farm toured the world and their raucous live shows became the stuff of legend. The group went their separate ways in 1995 but continued to enjoy popular appeal and their records have become all time classics.

In December 2010, the original line up returned to play their home town at the O2 Academy, receiving huge praise. What was supposed to be a one-off show, became a reforming of the band and they haven’t looked back since.
Suburban Blue aka SUB BLUE is a 19-year-old vocalist, musician and songwriter. His sound is best described as electronic soul, which bears the energy, angst and abandon of adolescence. He offers intelligent and introspective song writing, giving a suburban snapshot of teenage life in Merseyside.
Already shaping a strong following, Sub Blue is renowned for his outstanding live performances, which has taken him to award winning music festivals such as LIMF.
Live Sessions will be taking place every month on Shankly’s spectacular rooftop, with different and exciting acts headlining the show each time.
So, make the most of this jaw-dropping setting and get down early, grab a drink, take in the view and meet the bands. The bar will be open from 7pm and there will be food available.
What’s better than watching some of your favourite bands take to the stage in front of the stunning backdrop of the Liverpool sunset?
We’ll see you on the roof!
