The stunning interior of the building has long been admired by visitors to Liverpool and it is only this week that another part of St George’s halls amazing history will be unveiled for the public to see.
The Minton tiled floor was concealed in 1860 to protect the exquisite handcrafted mosaic during events that took place in the events space, since then it has remained hidden.
Until now, be among the first to see this stunning piece of Minton pavement depicting scenes of the goddess Neptune and the mythical Liver Birds.

If you have a budding theatrical performer in your family, or you simply enjoy getting hands on and crafty, step into Imaginative Worlds at the Albert Dock this week.
Taking inspiration from the O.K Musical, the Family Collective at Albert Dock’s TATE gallery has organised a series of family friendly workshops inviting you and the family to get dressed up and get involved.
Make your own masks, puppets and theatrical props and watch them take to the temporary stage that has taken over the gallery space.

Sadly, without this last story, The Story Giant will perish and with the help homing chickens and plenty of other whimsical characters the Shanty Theatre company will take their audience on a journey throughout the folklore and myths of the world. All in the hopes of finding the last story and saving the giants life.
