The Bastion Launches a New Spring Menu

The clocks have gone forward, the days are getting longer and the evenings getting lighter. It’s clear to see that Spring has officially sprung in Liverpool! To celebrate the arrival of the new season, The Bastion Bar & Restaurant is excited to announce the launch of our new Spring menu.

Featuring carefully crafted seasonal dishes created by our skilled in-house chefs, our new spring menu can be enjoyed in the beautifully unique restaurant situated in The Shankly Hotel.

Starters

Start your evening off right with one of our delectable starters, treat yourself to a Pressing of Ham Hock with Shorrock’s Lancashire Cheddar & leek croquettes, smoked sweetcorn and roasted pistachio. Alternatively, go for the Crispy Tempura King Prawns served with a delicious Romesco sauce, avocado, lime and coriander.

If they don’t take your fancy, then be tempted by one of our many other starter options including Bury Black Pudding Scotch Egg, Ashlynne Goats’ Cheese & Black Truffle Panna Cotta or the Rosemary Focaccia served with tomato & bean cassoulet, creamed garlic, warmed chorizo and Pecorino.

These tantalisingly moreish dishes will be sure to tempt you into getting another plate, but make sure to save room for one of our stand-out main courses!

Main Courses

Indulge in a unique take on a classic Duck Breast, served with a confit leg fritter. The Seared Goosnargh Duck is accompanied by celeriac and a helping of barbequed corn and finished off with a marget and blackberry reduction.

Why not try one of our vegetarian offers? We have the brand new Aubergine & Paneer Polpettes: a dish that is both elegant and filling. With Orzo pasta, Romesco, baby gem lettuce and a perfectly crispy poached egg, this is not one to miss.
