See the World at the Gaia Viewing

If you’ve always dreamed of seeing the world, now’s your chance in Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral.

An artist’s representation of our own magnificent planet is currently hanging in the huge interior of the Cathedral, and it’s free to view throughout June.

The stunning 3D earth rotates 360 times faster than our actual planet, giving a wonderful view of the earth’s surface as captured by NASA technology.

The River Festival and Bordeaux Wine Festival Come to the City

One of the most exciting Liverpool events is fast approaching this month; the River Festival and the Bordeaux Wine Festival.

An exciting weekend-long celebration will descend upon the River Mersey, for two days of family-friendly activities, food, drink, art and music.

Expect to see all sorts of maritime madness, including giant sea urchins made from fishing nets, 3D whales popping out of the water and a superb performance portraying Liverpool’s links with the Big Apple.

The whole world will be watching the Champs League final this Sunday, and no other city will rival the atmosphere of Liverpool.

On the busiest weekend of the year, the crowds of the River Festival will be joined by a huge number of football fans, gathering in the city to support their team.

Helping to wake up the world one screening at a time, Chasing Coral is an exposing documentary highlighting the decline of huge coral reefs all over the world.

Taking viewers beneath the waves, filmmakers have captured imagery of a dying world, in the hopes that people will take action to help prevent the loss of so many natural wonders.

Showcasing at The World Museum, less than 5-minutes’ walk from The Shankly Hotel, between 13:00 – 15:00 on 8TH June, this eye-opening movie is one to watch.

A Month of Mega Movies

Where: Liverpool ONE Odeon

This month, so many amazing movies have made their way to the big screens. The film adaption of Disney’s Aladdin, Secret Life of Pets 2 and later this month Toy Story 4 will premiere in cinemas everywhere.

Pop along to the Victoria Art Gallery and Museum to see what’s on in Liverpool in honour of Children’s Art Week 2019.

There’ll be guided tours of the exhibits displayed here, a chance to explore art and discuss the work on show, as well as have a go at creating your own masterpieces to take home.

Sail Away with Moana

Where: Camp and Furnace

If you are sailing into Liverpool this June, there’s only one place you’ll want to be and that’s Camp and Furnace’s Moana movie night.

This amazing movie screening will be more than magical for Moana fans, including all the usual Camp and Furnace flash such as props, snacks and drinks, as well as some very familiar faces.

Attend the 27th Africa Oyé

Where: Sefton Park

Another fabulous free Liverpool festival to look forward to in June is Africa Oyé.

One of the most exciting Liverpool events, now in its 27th year, is known as the largest celebration of African music in the UK.

This year, an exciting line-up of artists from all over the world includes acts from Jamaica, Haiti and Malawi. every artist brings their own unique sound to the stages of Sefton Park covering everything from Reggae Revival to roots music.

Admission is free and entertainment, workshops and performances begin at 12:30 Saturday 22ND.

You Must Do a Disney Sunday Brunch

Celebrate Liverpool Armed Forces Day

Where: Royal Albert Dock

Watch as three branches of the services come together in recognition of the amazing work the armed forces do for our city.

A formal service in St Nicholas’ Church will be followed by a precision parade along the World Heritage Waterfront making it’s way to Albert Dock.

Here a host of military demonstrations and performances will take place alongside recruitment stalls and street food and drink stands.

Celebrations will take place from 10:00 – 17:00, join in and honour the wonderful work of the Armed Forces during your visit to Liverpool in June.

Go on a Bear Hunt

When: 30TH

Where: Epstein Theatre

This popular 1989 children’s novel has seen a recent resurgence in popularity after Channel 4 aired a TV adaption on Christmas Eve 2016.

Since then, children all over the UK have been off on bear hunts of their very own and now, in Liverpool theatres, the novel will be brought to life on stage.

The whole family adventure is played out with a wonderful score and sound effects to accompany each one of the scary obstacles.

Come on a Crazy Caligula Trail

Give the kids a real Roman education at The Romans free family event this June.

When you are looking for what’s on in Liverpool for the whole family, The Romans will deliver on their Crazy Caligula Trail.

In the build-up to their exciting line-up of summer events, the Crazy Caligula Trail will invite your family to explore the Roman park, looking for clues and artefacts along the way.

There will be live music, a big BBQ, plenty of fun games to play and performances from the team.

Time for Big Fish Little Fish

Back by popular demand, Big Fish Little Fish returns to Constellations, bringing families together for a smashing summer rave sensation.

The team are ready to take over the colourful courtyard and warehouse, bringing with them lights, lasers, glitter cannons, huge balloons and plenty of dance music of course.

There’ll be face painting stations, play dough and crafting tables as well as space for little ones to tumble about and have a blast.

Families of all ages are welcome to come and rave the day away at Big Fish Little Fish. Tickets start at just £9.36 per person.
